Yoga Therapy Training and Special Conditions Training is at the Heart of Body Balance Yoga.
Yoga is extremely effective in a therapeutic way when following precise universal and sound bio-mechanical principles of alignment. In this series of workshops, you will study connective structural relationships to find the trails that lead to pain. Learn how to relieve pain from common injuries and special conditions, such as neck and shoulder pain, knee misalignments, sacral and lower back pain, sciatica and much more. We will see how precise alignment can actually begin the healing process and release chronic pain and tension. You will receive hands-on practical tools on how to help relieve pain. And as the Baby Boomers continue through the decades of their lives, Yoga Therapy will increase in demand. Your ability to see clearly and remain sensitive while backed by a wealth of accurate knowledge will position you to serve others well. This workshop is perfect for Yoga Teachers, dedicated Yoga Students, Pilates Instructors, Bodyworkers, Physical Therapists, Movement Instructors, Personal Trainers and Health and Fitness Professionals; however, it is not meant for beginning yoga or pilates students.
Body Balance Yoga currently offers Yoga Therapy Training Programs in
Maryland, New Hampshire and Florida as well as workshops throughout the United States.
PROGRAM CONTENT:
The full series of 5 workshops is designed to help you:
- Recognize common misalignments — The Art of Seeing
- Deepen your understanding of anatomy and the nervous system
- Understand the structural Anatomy Trains® lines that support a healthy body
- Learn how to teach and assist Hatha Yoga therapeutically
- Alleviate pain and begin to reverse the effects of chronic imbalances

The full Body Balance Yoga Therapy Training consists of five, 2-day sessions. This flexible one weekend per month schedule enables participants to travel from further distances to attend as well. Each session generally includes excellent handouts and materials, lectures, film/video clips, presentation materials, yoga practice, asana sequences and partner or small group work. Lunch or dinner breaks of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes will be given each day. Between each session, students are given assignments for home study. Missed weekends may be made up during the following year or at another location.
FACULTY:
